Offseason Question No. 2
Will Brett Favre play this season?
The Take Here:
Yes, without a doubt.
Favre wouldn't have undergone surgery for the torn biceps tendon that plagued him last season, while he was with the Jets, if he didn't intend to sign with the Vikings and play another season, ending another retirement.
The real question is whether it's a good move for the Vikings. Favre was a mediocre quarterback last season for the Jets, who folded late to miss the playoffs and ended up firing Eric Mangini as their coach.
The setup in Minnesota would be far better for Favre. He'd be playing with coaches that he knows, in an offensive system with which he is familiar. He'd be supported by a terrific running back, a very good offensive line and a more than adequate defense.
But it would be a move with Super Bowl-or-bust expectations for the Vikings, and there are significant questions about whether Favre remains a Super Bowl-caliber quarterback.
Brad Childress apparently will become the latest coach to wager his job on that.

I think Favre will have a better season playing in a dome and hanging off the AP. He was playing like a champ until the injury last year. His main concern will be to stay out of Percy Harvin's quarantine bubble so he doesn't catch whatever super virus is incubating in him like the monkey from Outbreak. On the plus side Favre and Gus Frerotte can swap stories about how a pack of Lucky Strikes used to cost a nickel when they were growing up. Oh and Childress' job has been in jeopardy since they drafted Tavaris no action Jackson, so it was hail mary time anyway.
