Broncos Rookie Arrested
Richard Quinn, a rookie tight end for the Denver Broncos, was jailed overnight after an argument with his girlfriend Monday, the Denver Post reported.
According to the report, Quinn was arrested and charged with obstruction of telephone service harassment.
He allegedly took away his girlfriend's cell phone to prevent her from calling the police.
According to the Post, a sheriff's department report said that Quinn's girlfriend told deputies that he grabbed her and shook her to the ground. Quinn admitted taking the phone but told deputies he grabbed his girlfriend only after she hit him in the face. The sheriff's department report said there was no signs of injuries to Quinn's face, according to the Post.
Peter Schaffer, Quinn's attorney and agent, told the newspaper that there were scratches on Quinn's back, and denied wrongdoing by Quinn.
Schaffer called it "an unfortunate personal situation" and told the Post: "When all the facts come out, people will find out Richard's done nothing wrong. Richard's number one concern right now is the welfare of his daughter and to avoid any negative light brought to the Denver Broncos, Richard and his family."
