Derrick Brooks Still Unsigned
Linebacker Derrick Brooks, released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the offseason, remains out of work despite drawing interest in recent weeks from the New Orleans Saints, Oakland Raiders and Chicago Bears.
The Bears were the latest team to study the possibility of signing Brooks.
They lost linebacker Brian Urlacher to a season-opening wrist injury suffered in Sunday night's loss at Green Bay. But the Bears apparently have decided to go with Hunter Hillenmeyer as their starter and hold off, at least for now, on signing Brooks.
