Ruling Soon in Jets Case
The NFL is expected to make a ruling this week on possible disciplinary action, likely in the form of a fine, against the New York Jets for failing to list quarterback Brett Favre on their weekly injury reports late last season.
Favre, now with the Minnesota Vikings, said recently that he and the team were aware during the season that he had a partially torn biceps tendon. Jets General Manager Mike Tannenbaum has taken responsibility for the matter and has said that Favre should have been listed on the injury reports.
Former Jets coach Eric Mangini, now with the Cleveland Browns, has said he followed league rules. The Associated Press reported that Mangini's role also is being investigated by the league and he potentially could be fined as well.
Favre did not miss any games.
