Browns Question Bengals' Winning Kick
Cleveland Browns defensive coordinator Rob Ryan told reporters Friday he believes that Cincinnati Bengals kicker Shayne Graham missed his field goal in overtime last Sunday that was called good by officials to beat the Browns.
Graham's 31-yard field goal came close to the right upright.
"You could watch the tape," Ryan said, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "That would be great. I'm not saying anything but man, maybe the posts were crooked. [But] I don't want to get fined. I pay enough money on a house I don't even live in in California.... I don't want to make this a big story, but I was disappointed. Of course, I'm not an expert. That's why I'm saying maybe somebody else should look at it."
An NFL spokesman indicated the league has reviewed replays and believes the kick was good and the play was called correctly.
The league has made field goals subject to instant replay review but a kick that passes above an upright is not subject to replay review.
