Childress could get contract extension
According to an online report by CBS Sports, the Minnesota Vikings are negotiating a possible contract extension with Coach Brad Childress.
The deal possibly could be completed within the next three weeks, according to the report.
Childress's current contract runs through the 2010 season but it was thought his job would be in serious jeopardy after this season if the Vikings didn't have success.
They're off to a 6-0 start after luring quarterback Brett Favre out of retirement, a deal orchestrated in large part by Childress.
