Fisher wears Manning jersey
UPDATED (12:21 p.m.)...
According to the Tennessean, Jeff Fisher wore a Peyton Manning jersey, at first hidden beneath a shirt and jacket, to introduce former Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy at an event Tuesday in Nashville.
"I just wanted to feel like a winner," Fisher joked, according to the newspaper.
The Titans are 0-6 and Titans owner Bud Adams has said he'll make a decision after the season about Fisher's job status.
The Titans' fall has been swift and stunning after they were one of the league's top teams last season. They've lost, 31-9, to Manning and the Colts and they were overwhelmed, 59-0, by the New England Patriots last weekend.
After that defeat, Adams told the Tennessean that he will evaluate Fisher following the season.
"If we end up losing every game or don't look better, I'd have to look at that pretty hard, you know what I mean?" Adams told the newspaper. "The way it is going, I don't know if we'll win any games, and that is unheard of in the National Football League.
"Right now, it's as bad as I've seen it, and that's a long time. I've never had a team start out like this. We had the best record in the NFL last year. I can't understand it."
Adams indicated he won't make a coaching change during the season, however.
"Even if I am unhappy, you don't make changes in the middle of the season," Adams told the Tennessean. "You don't know what you might end up with. We'll just have to see what happens the rest of the way. I'll have to make my decision after the season is up. Who knows, we might come back and win 10 games. Then it wouldn't look so bad compared to how we started out. We have to look at the overall picture.
"But right now we're not doing very well, and that worries me."
