Friends of Kazemi Question Police Finding

Former friends of Sahel Kazemi, the girlfriend of former NFL quarterback Steve McNair who was found shot to death with McNair in July in Nashville, told CBS they disagree with the police finding in the case that Kazemi killed McNair and then herself.

"I still feel like something is missing," Lakresia Polite, a friend of Kazemi, told the network. "I don't think Jenni [Kazemi] ever shot McNair. I don't think Jenni shot herself."

Police had called Kazemi distraught before her death. According to CBS, that characterization was disputed by former boyfriend Keith Norfleet, who called her "very happy and upbeat all the time."

CBS reported that a jailhouse video showed Kazemi in good spirits after being arrested for DUI days before the shootings. The network also obtained a bank statement that showed Kazemi had more than $2,500 in her checking account, sufficient to cover her bills, on the day she died.

"There are a bunch of inconsistencies that would cause me to go back and investigate it further," former police detective and licensed investigator Wayne Black told the network, according to a written account of the report on the CBS News Web site.

Police also indicated that Kazemi purchased the gun used in the shootings.
