G.B. trip is next for Favre

PITTSBURGH--It didn't take long for Brett Favre to be asked about his trip to Green Bay.

It came up following the Minnesota Vikings' loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday at Heinz Field.

The Vikings, whose record dropped to 6-1, play at Green Bay this weekend in what will be Favre's first game at Lambeau Field since his emotionally charged parting with the Packers when he was traded to the New York Jets before the 2008 season.

Favre already has beaten the Packers this season, playing well in a Vikings' triumph in Minneapolis.

"We need a win," Favre said Sunday. "They're going to say the same thing. And that part--I'm just glad the first game is over and done with.

"My career with Green Bay speaks for itself. And the games that I played in Lambeau Field--it's a special place. That won't change. For three hours, I'll be on the other side. Do I know what that's going to feel like? I have no idea because I've never been on the other side.

"But I know that our team needs a win and it's going to be a tough place, as it always is, a tough place to play. [There will be] a lot of excitement. It'll make a good story for this week: 'Favre going back.' But it's about our team, and that's really what I'm focused on. I'm just glad that playing those guys at least once is over and done with, and we can kind of get on with what we're doing. It's going to be a tough game for us. They're a good football team, and we knew that last time. It's always tough to win in Lambeau."
