McNabb doesn't regret phone prank

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb said Wednesday he doesn't regret picking up a phone on the New York Giants' sideline and pretending to make a call after running out of bounds on a play during the Eagles' playoff triumph at Giants Stadium last season.

"No, I don't have any regrets for doing it," McNabb said during a conference call with reporters Wednesday, according to an account in the Newark Star-Ledger.

"But in this game, do you really need any psychological motivation? I don't think so. This is a game you dream about playing and you love competing--no matter who you play. We've played each other for years and I don't think you need any type of motivation to play this game. If you need any little thing that happened during a game last year or years before, then really you're not truly focused on week in and week out trying to be the best at what you do."

The Giants and Eagles play Sunday in Philadelphia.

It was a pretty stupid thing to do. Not as stupid as the Titans and the Terrible Towel, but pretty dumb. Maybe he needed to call someone to explain the rules of overtime. Or maybe to explain you cannot call a time out when you don't have one. McNabb doesn't have to regret anything with the all big games he's won over the years. Oh, wait!

Making a big deal about this incident was so stupid. Why would anyone be taking McNabb to task for enjoying a game? The soldiers on the ground in Afghanistan are doing serious business. Playing football - even though the NFL would like you to believe otherwise - is not a life or death ordeal. These blow hards need to get a life. McNabb has nothing to regret.
