Report: Browns to seek football czar
According to a report by NBC, the Cleveland Browns plan to hire a person to oversee their football operations, or a football czar.
The potential candidates mentioned in the NBC report include former Green Bay Packers general manager Ron Wolf, former Packers and Seattle Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren and former Browns, Baltimore Colts and New York Giants general manager Ernie Accorsi.
The Browns have dismissed George Kokinis as their general manager and owner Randy Lerner previously has said he intends to hire a strong leader to try to rebuild the team.
Accorsi previously has said that he did not plan to return to a full-time GM-like position.
Lerner has indicated that he does not intend to fire Eric Mangini as the club's coach this season.
