Report: No discipline of Cable expected
The NFL is not expected to discipline Oakland Raiders Coach Tom Cable over allegations by a former wife and a former girlfriend that he hit them in the past, ESPN reported.
According to the report, the league directed Cable to undergo a clinical evaluation to determine if further action is necessary for an issue such as anger management.
The women made the accusations against Cable in interviews with the ESPN show "Outside the Lines."
Cable denied most of the allegations but acknowledged in a written statement that he once struck his former wife with an open hand.
The National Organization for Women called for Cable to be suspended.
