Eagles add Marlin Jackson
Free agent cornerback and safety Marlin Jackson agreed to a two-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, the club announced.
Jackson had been scheduled to visit the New York Jets later in the day. Instead, he completed a deal with the Eagles before completing his visit to Philadelphia.
"They've won each and every year," Jackson said, according to the Eagles' Web site. "Andy Reid has done a great job. You look at the roster, they have a top quarterback in the league. They have a great offensive line. They have weapons on offense. They generate great pass rush. They have defensive backs already here. They have all the pieces that are already needed to win a championship."
Jackson became an unrestricted free agent when the Indianapolis Colts declined to tender him a contract in restricted free agency.
He's coming off a knee injury but said he expects to be fully healthy by training camp, according to the Eagles' Web site.
Jackson was a first-round draft choice by the Colts in 2005.

Hmm, signing another player coming back from crippling knee surgery, I hope he is not another Stacy Andrews. I wonder how they plan to use Jackson, as a nickelback or a starting CB or a safety? There is supposedly really deep talent at the safety spot this draft, so I wonder if this signing means another DB will get traded, maybe Ellis Hobbs or Sheldon Brown?
