First training camp opens Friday
NFL training camps begin to open Friday when the Cleveland Browns' rookies are scheduled to report to their camp in Berea, Ohio.
The Dallas Cowboys are scheduled to report to their camp in San Antonio, Tex., on Saturday, and rookies for the New England Patriots and San Diego Chargers report to camps Sunday.
All NFL teams are scheduled to report to their training camps by Aug. 1.
According to a written release by the league, 17 of the 32 NFL teams will hold their training camps in their home cities. Only five teams stayed home for training camp in 2001.
The Green Bay Packers will be at St. Norbert College in DePere, Wis., for a 53rd straight summer for training camp.
The Minnesota Vikings are in Mankato, Minn., for a 44th camp, and the Pittsburgh Steelers are in Latrobe, Penn., for a 44th camp.
