Report: Michael Vick won't be disciplined by NFL

The NFL reportedly will not discipline Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick in the aftermath of a shooting at a birthday party for Vick last month in Virginia Beach.

The league has informed Vick of the decision, ESPN reported.

According to the report, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell spoke to Vick by telephone and will meet with Vick on Aug. 3 at the Eagles' training camp at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa. Goodell cautioned Vick to be more careful in his personal life, according to the report.

The Associated Press reported that a league spokesman said there had been no change in Vick's playing status but declined further comment.

A prosecutor said recently that Vick was involved in a confrontation before the shooting at his birthday party last month, but left the restaurant three to five minutes before the shooting and was not involved in it.

No charges have been filed in connection with the incident, in which one man, identified in some media reports as Quanis Phillips, Vick's former co-defendant against dogfighting charges, was shot and suffered a non-life-threatening wound. Phillips was reportedly treated at a hospital and released.

Vick said in an earlier written statement that he had "nothing to do" with the shooting.

Vick played for the Eagles last season after missing two NFL seasons while serving a federal sentence for his role in a dogfighting operation in Virginia.

Just another criminal getting away with it because he plays a sport. BFD. All I can say is that he will get his in the afterlife.

I notice in the pic that Michael is wearing his hat backwards and off center. I wonder if his pants are down below his unmentionables, as well. Probably. He doesn't have enough sense to dress himself.
