New Eli Will Come

Hey, streaky is as streaky does, and Eli Manning is so streaky, it's a wonder that doesn't pay him to paint their name on his back. So maybe this year, as opposed to all the previous ones of his career, his hot streak comes in the second half of the regular season, not the first. I'm sure the Giants would take that. The real payoff of the "New Eli" will come in the playoffs (assuming the G-Men face enough offenses as anemic as the Redskins' was last night to get there), when his run last year can't help but result in an increased level of confidence and command in the huddle. Don't underestimate how the faith his teammates now have in the "New Eli" will translate into a positive team-wide mental state come the postseason. But until, then let's not be surprised when Manning offers up the more-than-occasional blast from the past.

Hi. Didn't this guy just win a Superbowl and the opening game of the season? The "old" and "new" Eli are the same person and they keep winning.
