Sunday Line Chatter, Week 2

Howdy! We're here to pick all the NFL games this weekend, and we can only hope to do as well as we did in Week 1, when we were all within a game of .500. Happily for Dave and Des, they actually came in over .500 at 8-7, and both hit their locks, the Bills for Dave and the Cardinals for Des. Unhappily for Matt, he brought up the rear at 7-8 and missed his lock, the Bengals, as his mantra about rookie quarterbacks in NFL debuts proved to be something less than Buddha-like wisdom. Can Matt turn it around? Read our chat, follow the games and find out! We'll kick it off with our Game of the Week, then we divide up the rest of the week's games into tiers -- from Games We Want to Watch, to Games We Might Want to Watch, to Games We'll Skip in Favor of Whatever's on the Lifetime Channel. Plus, we'll provide links to the game previews that we've already posted at The League. And away we go:
Game of the Week: New England (+1.5) at N.Y. Jets
David Larimer: This line seems all about slagging the Pats, rather than saying much good about the Jets
Matt Bonesteel: I like the Pats. Belichick is playing possum I think. He'll design something palatable for Cassel to run.
David Larimer: agreed. the pats are the favorite until proven otherwise. and since the line has them as the dog, i'd be silly not to take them
bielerd: I have gone back-and-forth on this one. I buy into the theory that the pats are much more than just Brady, but I also buy into the theory that they have to lose this division at some point, and the year Brady goes down seems as good a time as any. I'll take the Jets.
Matt Bonesteel: of course you will.
bielerd: yeah, because I always take the jets. except the time I was mocked by espn's own tuesday morning QB for taking the winless dolphins last year against the jets.
Matt Bonesteel: I gotta go all the way to &$&$ Friendship Heights to get cat food before work, so I can't really dawdle here.
