What's the real difference between political coverage and sports coverage? Call me cynical, but the football season and the election season are both competitions that the networks turn into entertainment.

Super Tuesday, Super Sunday; conventions and draft day -- they all seem to blur into one giant media circus. There's live music, falling confetti, experts debating the merits of each side, and those colorful graphics illustrating the keys to victory. Too bad one is just a game and the other supposedly decides the leader of the free world.
