Why Can't the Giants Be This Year's Giants?

Lightning can be bottled twice.

Now, this pretty much hinges on whether we get the Eli Manning of last December-January, or the Eli Manning of the 26 previous years on Earth. And whether Tom Coughlin doesn't get too grouchy. And whether they're buying in to the whole "Nobody Is Respecting Us" schtick (which may be a good thing, if they're not). But take away Strahan and Umenyiora, and you have pretty much the same team that shocked the world last season.

Of course, the last three times the Giants made the Super Bowl, they failed to post a winning record. So what do I know?
