Yinzers to Cowpokes?

Unless Dan Snyder wants to buy a huge block of tickets and insure that those tickets go to Redskins fans (and that'll happen about the same time that Jerry Jones and Jimmy Johnson go skipping, arm-in-arm, down Pennsylvania Avenue), there's not much a team owner can do. Similarly, I'm not sure what players can do about it. People buy what they can buy, and Steelers fans are notorious for traveling to see their team. Them "Yinzers" are a passionate fanbase, n'at!

It did surprise me to see all of those Terrible Towels at FedEx. Were the Redskins struggling along at 3-5, undergoing some sort of rebuild with a new head coach, I'd understand the vacancies. But at 6-2 when the game started, with an exciting offense and solid defense, not to mention a long and illustrious choke-hold on the soul of the D.C. area, the 'Skins should be able to sell out their own house.

Perhaps the economy is preventing many local fans from buying those tickets, or the election was on the minds of the populace. What I do know is that the Redskins have a bye, and then the Cowboys coming to town. It's bad enough when you're invaded by those Terrible Towels, but I think it's up to the Redskins Nation to say, "Yes, We Can!" and make sure that when the traveling circus from Irving arrives, the fans have to stay behind.
