I've got two free agent signings that no one really paid attention to, but have helped their teams a lot this season.

Tennessee got a guard [Jake Scott] from the Colts who has really helped them. That's an offense that's built around its running game. He had to come into that offense with an offensive line that was pretty well intact and fit in. He was going to have to play well because if he didn't, it would stand out like a sore thumb. And he has. And you see what they've done, going 8-0.

And then there's Travis LaBoy [a defensive end who went from the Titans to the Cardinals]. He went out to Arizona and he's leading them in sacks. He's played well, and they're playing well as a team to be in first place like they are.

Travis LaBoy, a University of Hawaii alum, has been overlooked since his college years. It's surprising given his lineage (his father was an All-American at UH) and versatility as a multi-sport athlete.

There should be no surprise as he's maturing that his leadership as well as playmaking capabilities are reaching a zenith. Even back at UH, he was always considered a thoughtful and perceptive athlete even as NFL scouts believed he was undersized for his position.

The thinking man seems to always be overlooked in pro sports and it's great to see his success at this level.

i like laboy as a player, last year every time he came in he looked good, then when odom came in you could see that he wasnt the same caliber as laboy, imagine if the titans kept him, their rotation would be great,i dont think it cost arizona much cash to get him.and the colts sure miss scott,if people have not noticed.
