In Spirit of St. Louis

I love toasting questions. It reminds be of an old "toast" joke Eagles fans used to tell during the Buddy Ryan era:

Question: Why is defensive back Izel Jenkins' nickname "toast?"
Answer: Because he always gets burnt.

Pretty fitting since the Rams defense will get burnt this weekend. Why, you ask?

Get your dancing shoes ready Arizona and get ready to toast because your Cardinals are clinching their first division title since 1975 this Sunday. I know, you remember it like it was yesterday; throwing confetti in the air, celebrating with family and friends as St. Louis won the NFC East. And I know you're praying that Kurt Warner and company can recreate the franchise's last magical, championship season of 1948 -- while in Chicago of course.

Needless to say Phoenix, er, Arizona, you're due, very due, well overdue - with thanks but no thanks to the aforementioned Ryan, Dennis "they are who we thought they were" Green, Vince Tobin, Joe Bugel, Dave McGinnis, and any other sub-.400 winning percentage coach that naturally rolls off the tongue.

But not this season, not in this destined division-winning season with the second place team hovering at 4-8.

So get ready to attend the first Bill Bidwell soirée in decades and celebrate the newest toast of the town -- your Arizona football team. It's time to come full circle this Sunday, toasting the franchise's first division in a generation. So be sure to watch the Cardinals soar on Sunday, all in the spirit of St. Louis.
