Dump Him Now

I would say absolutely they're better off without him.

He's made it very emphatic that he wants to play football on his terms.

He's under the delusion that he thinks it's a privilege for the New York Giants to have him playing for them.

People can talk about it being a mistake that [General Manager] Jerry Reese and the Giants signed him to that new contract right before the season. But take a look at the contract. There are some [protections for the team] in there. The Giants made a very wise business decision when they signed him to that deal.

If it was announced tomorrow that the Giants had waived Plaxico Burress or that the Giants had placed him on the non-football injury list and he was done playing for the season, you wouldn't be surprised in the least. They showed yesterday how much they need him.

They may be a better team with him when he's in top form and on his good behavior. But at some point, you have to move past all the "Yeah, buts..."
