It's Peterson By a Half-Step
In this season, that's like picking NFL running back No. 1 and NFL running back No. 1A.
Both have been terrific. Both have their teams in playoff contention. Both have legitimate MVP cases.
No offseason free agent addition has meant more to his team than Michael Turner has meant to the Falcons. He's a major reason why Matt Ryan is succeeding as a rookie starter at quarterback.
But at the moment, I'll take Adrian Peterson over Turner. Peterson gets it done in Minnesota with less help than Turner has in Atlanta. Peterson doesn't have a quarterback as good as Ryan or a wide receiver as good as Roddy White, and yet he's closing in on a possible rushing title and MVP award.
It's close, but the nod at this point goes to Peterson.
