Goodell Better Recognize

The NFL needs to recognize what Twitter is and how it can be used positively to enhance the sport -- not hurt it. Essentially, it's just a new way for fans to interact with their favorite players; to get closer to the players they watch week in and week out from September through February.

The league needs to embrace Twitter and use it as another tool to grow the sport. A commonsense policy is obviously needed. You can't allow tweeting during games, practices or other team functions. But once the players leave their team's facilities, they are essentially "off the clock." If they want to use Twitter, they should be allowed to. After all, you don't see other top companies banning their employees from using Twitter. Why should the NFL be any different?
