Punish Stupidity

I'm not to sure why some are outraged and feel that Plax needs "our prayers". Twitter pages were blazing last night with messages back and forth, offering prayers for Plax as he faces this trying time. Some even asked for Terrell Owens to call Roger Goodell out again. Why is it "surprising people" that Plax is being indicted? The grand jury indicted Burress on two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and one count of reckless endangerment. The charges carry a mandatory minimum sentence of 3½ years in prison. Now on Plaxico's behalf, he did offer to serve a year. However the DA is not going with the "year" and Plaxico feels he stands a better chance with a jury.

So what did he do to get him in such trouble, besides being blatantly stupid?

He carried a loaded gun, in his waist band into a club full of people, that same gun slipped down his leg and hence he shot himself in the thigh. The gun was not licensed. Yes, Plax has a license in Florida but he let that lapse -- just like his judgment in letting Pierce cover for him and giving a fake name at the hospital. Let us not forget his wanting to keep the bullet he shot himself with; as a souvenir... until he was instructed that they need it for evidence. Ask yourselves, why do you think, he did what he did? Wait for it: STUPIDITY.

As for myself, personally I don't care about Plaxico Burress or what happens to him. I'm sure when he's done serving time for his stupidity; he will be back in the league. Perhaps the team that picks up Michael Vick could use Plax's abilities as a wide out, Pacman on special teams and Marshawn as their RB. That would be deemed "Reality TV" for the NFL.

Your opinion is well stated. Plaxico started writing his ticket out of the league when he was with Pittsburgh years ago. I am not a Giants fan. However, this transcends sports. It is past time for these athletes to think they are above the law.

Thank you!

I should have woven Plax in the Burgh, into the above, excellent point and an opportunity I missed!

All Michigan State alums can gather around a ceremonial burning couch to commemorate Plaxico's perp walk.

Agree with this blogger. Stupid crime, to be dealt with by the league. The progress will be made when a new generation of athletes will abandon loser neighborhood buddies in favor of rehabilitation

Perp Walk fits.....TY 4 stopping & leaving your thoughts!

I'm the blogger that wrote the is a stupid crime isn't it! Shame he ruined his NFL career over a shot in the thigh. Next time buy a holster Plax instead of walking around like a "wannabe"!
