Look Under Center

The biggest reason currently in the NFL as to why there is such a difference between the winning teams and the losing teams is the talent at the QB position. With the exception of the 4-0 Denver Broncos (who should really be 3-1 but are not thanks to a miracle last second play against the Bengals), the undefeated teams in the NFL all have top notch QBs. Again, with the exception of the Denver Broncos, the undefeated teams are led by QBs Peyton and Eli Manning, Drew Brees, and Brett Favre.

Conversely, the winless teams are led by very subpar QBs such as Tennessee Titans QB Kerry Collins who it appears have let age catch up with him quickly. QB Matt Cassel is obviously no longer driving a high performance offense, now being in Kansas City instead of New England. How can an NFL team be expected to be competitive when teams have revolving doors at the QB position, such as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cleveland Browns, and St Louis Rams? Until NFL teams are more consistent at evaluating and developing the QB position, there will always be the presence of a handful of NFL teams who help limit the overall talent in the NFL.
