Not in the Cards
The one division leader that I don't see making the playoffs is the 4-3 Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals, coming off a great win in New York, lost to one of the bottom feeders of the NFL right now in Carolina this past weekend, and they lost at home, which is what made the loss even worse.
I think that the San Francisco 49ers are going to win the NFC West. The 49ers have physically abused teams all season and have not let up in any of their games. Both teams have fairly easy schedules in the second half of the season. The Cardinals are one of the most inconsistent teams in the league right now, and if Frank Gore can stay healthy, the 49ers should be able to give them a run for their money, especially if Alex Smith continues to give them new life at the quarterback position.
I'd also keep an eye on the Cincinnati Bengals, who are tied with Pittsburgh for the division lead in the AFC North, with Baltimore one game back. That's going to be a great division race to watch the rest of the year.
