Vinny Cerrato Defends Daniel Snyder

I make my living from burrowing into the slimy little corners of ridiculous local sports soap operas, and even I'm sick of this one. Literally every day there's something new to write about that has absolutely nothing to do with the men in tight clothes who throw around the weirdly shaped ball and then occasionally hug each other. You almost don't need to watch the football games to cover this team. This week's arc went from Dan Snyder's apology on Tuesday to John Riggins's outburst on Wednesday to Greg Blache's return-from-the-silent-void on Thursday.

And in the interest of closing this week's loop of madness, I guess I should tell you that Vinny Cerrato took to the airwaves on his radio show Friday morning to defend his boss from Riggins's charges of having a dark heart. Riggins certainly rubbed at least a few fans the wrong way by turning this into a discussion of morals and ethics, but I still have to imagine that if he and Cerrato are duking it out in the arena of public opinion, the Hall of Famer will have the upper hand.

What is Cerrato going to say? Snyder is the only person who would give him a job. After Schottenheimer fired Cerrato, I didn't recall anybody offered Cerrato a job; that's why he hung out at ESPN. Riggo is right, Snyder is a low-life.

Id like to be that kind of low life. smh...smh....Cerrato is the bum folks. Snyder is fine. Vinny is the problem. The sooner this town starts realizing that the better. Get rid of Vinny we will start winning.

oh....btw, Riggo is a knowledgeable sports guy with an axe to grind. Thumbsdown Riggo...you out of order in this case.

KentonSmith..
Riggins only said what other WashPost writers, who are not afraid of the Snyder media machine, have written the last 2 months. Writers like Feinstein, Jenkins, and Boswell, who have outside income from books and as such dont care if they ruffle the Snyder..

Vinny you suck!

Go to hell Vinny....You and the midget single handedly ruined our beloved football franchise. All the lying is not going to help, majority of the fans know what is going on and we all look forward to the day when you are canned.

NO! "Riggins certainly rubbed at least a few fans the wrong way..."

NOT certain at all. Danny has a lackey or two at the computers planting comments.
Also, y'know -- those poor guys who invested in the Redskins -- I mean the partners in those Redskins stores. They must be DYING on the vine right now. If I was them, I'd be putting the best spin on these boards, too.

The sudden banning of fed ex field signage was disgusting. The owner couldn't man up and is a coward. Nice way to alienate a whole other section of fans since it's not about bad football any longer it IS about having an owner who may actually be a dick. Friday morning VC said to criticize the football NOT Snyder personally but Snyder has made it personal and there is no turning back from it. Even if the Redskins won the Superbowl next year, we love the team but hate Snyder and he will NEVER be embraced in ANY meaningful capacity in this town.

I only hope he sells the team and doesn't sneak it out in the middle of the night. Sneaking out is something this owner would do. The more he tries to squelch the criticisim, the worse he looks personally. VC is a moron and he still doesn't know it.

Me and friends going to Philly for the game in Nov and will have a sign up there that DS will love. Danny, make me take THAT sign down!!

Oh Danny Boy, the pipes are softly calling . . .

Why is VC still on the radio? He has nothing meaningful to say, isn't thoughtful and reminds me of Pepper Rogers. Pepper was another one of Dan Snyder's inept hirings. Pepper was cocky, blustery and when it came to NFL management skills, was a kindergartener lost in an adult world. Vinnie liked to hang around old Pepper and has learned from the best . . .

Lets look at the 2 people at the center of this issue.

In this corner, we have a retired hall of fame running back, adored by millions of fans during his playing days, outspoken, but never afraid to tell it like it is. . ("Loosen up Sandy baby") and on the field, he gave MORE than 100% to the Redskins. After how many Sundays, did Riggo spend 2-3 days after abig game at Sibley Hospital, but was ready to go the following Sunday?

In this corner. . we have Vinny (No. . not my cousin Vinny. . the other one). Hired away from ESPN I believe, by Dan Snyder, to be spokesperson, VP of operations for The Redskins. When Vinny speaks, Dannyboy has his whole arm up Vinny's (_*_) to make Vinny speak. If Vinny had any brass ones, Vinny would invite Riggo, or even a fan (Are there any fans left) on his show, to get opposing views.

I don't know either man personally, but respect from legions of Redskins faithful, in support of their hero, speaks VOLUMES about Riggo's credibility. I have yet to hear anyone in support of Vinny, or Danny.

Danny. . here is a suggestion for you. . . . Sell the team NOW, before it loses even more value, while under your control.

VINNY....VINNY.....MARTY CANNED HIM FOR A REASON....VINNY IS A PAIN, I MET A GIRL WHO WORKED OUT AT REDSKIN PARK....HER QUOTE REFERRING TO SNYDER,' I'M NOT EVEN GOING TO EXPLAIN THAT MAN.' SHE SAID IT IN ABSOLUTE DISGUST......SNYDER IS A PRICK AND A PRICK IS A PRICK, LOOK AT WHAT HE AND VINNY DID TO ZORN....DID SNYDER STEP IN AND SAY 'NO?' HE DESERVES WHAT HE GETS....VINNY NEEDS TO BOLT OUT OF HERE WITH HIS UBNOXIOUS LAUGH.
