Good grief, people have short memories, if they ever knew anything at all. The '96 Packers had no weaknesses. They had the #1-ranked offense, defense, and special teams. The last time any team did that was the Dolphins in the early 70s. AND GB won a Super Bowl, which MN hasn't done yet. They've played well through 8 games, Lots more to go.

DMPK is right on point. That 1996 team was one of the best and often overlooked in the greatest teams of NFL History. They weren't the 85 Bears, but they were dominant!

I agree with both comments thus far but one key fact is missing. Brett was in his prime from the '96-'98 season when he won his 3 consecutive MVPs. This alone puts the '96 and '97 Packer teams above this years Vikings even if the Vikings win the title because Brett was better. Further, although AP is far more dominant than any running back Favre played with in his career when you examine the teams on a position by position basis it is clear that the '96 Packers and the '97 Packers were better teams than this years Vikings.
