Profiles in Courage?

I don't begrudge Vick a bit of whatever success he has in future but to single him out as an example? Tough to wrap my head around that one.

Is Vick Worthy?

Should the Eagles have picked Michael Vick for the Ed Block Courage Award? Vote now...

Vick's the winner

In the eyes of a "jury" of Vick's peers, this award was well deserved - unanimous verdict.

He deserves it

Maybe we as fans and media disagree, but we don't have a vote here. The players have the vote and therefore they set the criteria.

PETA: Eagles fumbled

Michael Vick should not be the person anyone points to as a model of sportsmanship.

By Dan Shannon | December 25, 2009; 9:09 AM ET | Comments (8)

Get over it

With all due respect to PETA, it's none of their business.

Deserving enough

If you think about Vick's season on a human level there's really no other choice.

Don't believe the hype

In the end, there's really nothing to see here, as much as the media would like you to think there is.

Vikings bleeding?

At the moment, Childress and Favre are pooh-poohing any notion that the Vikings are about to implode. But definitely, stay tuned.

Wrangling Favre

As clever as Favre can seem on the field, he is only effective when working in a controlled system. These days there is no control in Minnesota.

Give it up Chilly

You're not going to win an argument with Brett and he's your best shot at a title.

Same old Favre

The Vikings mortgaged a lot to bring in Favre and it's looking more and more like the gambit will not pay off.

Favre breakdown

If the Vikings look uninspired during the playoffs, the team's lack of trust in it's leaders might be the cause.

Favre's relationship chilly

Will Brett Favre's power struggle with head coach Brad Childress doom the Vikings playoffs hopes? Vote now.

Janet Jackson would be proud

Roger Goodell wants to rule the NFL with an iron fist.

Accepting exception

I get why the league never wants to bend the rules, but this is one of those unique instances that merits it.

By Anthony Stalter | December 21, 2009; 2:21 PM ET | Comments (0)

Rules are rules

Some "tributes" were more about poking Goodell in the eye than in truly honoring Henry's memory.

Won't happen

Roger Goodell fines players a lot for a lot of things, but he knows public relations.

By Dave Goldberg | December 21, 2009; 10:58 AM ET | Comments (0)

Let it go, Goodell

Typically, I get tired of the antics of overpaid, spoiled athletes and would encourage Goodell to fine them. Not this time.

By Dawn Knight | December 21, 2009; 10:54 AM ET | Comments (0)

Have a heart, NFL

Leave the fines alone for a week.

Where's the harm?

Sometimes rules should be set aside for extenuating circumstance, especially when the harm is non-existent.

Not a perfect world

The Rooney Rule is good for the same reason we have the seat belt law: It's habit-forming.
