Because the freedom of speech is not enjoyed by so many, it is important to appreciate it and to champion it. For that reason I would never try to deny anyone this freedom. Whether I agree or not with his ideas, Tim Tebow is no exception.

Declaring his beliefs to a large football audience is nothing new for Tebow. He has been doing that on the football field and in interviews for some time. I find it admirable that he is unafraid and determined to speak his mind, despite knowing the criticism that it is sure to bring.

While I admire Tebow's strength and support his freedom of speech, I would still prefer to watch football without controversial ads. It is the same reason I didn't want Rush Limbaugh to own a football team. Football is a means of escape. Ads that bring us out of our reverie are sure to suck some of the fun out of it. But if controversy and politics are going to be the new Super Bowl trend, at least I won't have to worry about missing a good commercial when I go grab more food or another beer.
