Will Redskins do as the Yankees do?

The only advice to Dan Snyder that I have, presuming as I do that he is ready to open his wallet to turn the 'Skins into winners, is that he keep his nose out of player selection and let Allen and Shanahan do their jobs without interference or input.

And I think that may be what he's planning to do. He shows signs of having learned his lesson during the Jeff George/Deion Sanders fiascoes.

It is my admittedly contrarian belief that Dan Snyder will one day become the best owner in the whole NFL. He wants the 'Skins to win as badly as, indeed more badly than, the rest of us do, and he appears willing, at last, to swallow his ego to make it happen.

And he has more money he is willing to spend than any other owner.

I think that a lot of the people who badmouth Snyder's free-spending ways are the same people who decry the Lerners' perceived (although not actual) stinginess with the Nats. But I have come to expect no consistency from children.
