Michael Vick can return to form, in fact he already has. All it took was one year out of the slammer to knock the rust off. Michael Vick is what I like call superior. People tend to give athletes too much credit. Vick, Randy Moss, Adrian Peterson, Chris Johnson, Deion Sanders and only a few more are superior athletes that could give the least bit of effort and still make an NFL roster.

Vick is back to form. He's got that spark back that and is still one of the most electrifying players, but the real thing for people to is what Michael Vick's "form" really is? As exciting as he was, "form" was exciting, but also average and inconsistent. Vick was about a year away from Tony Romo status before he got locked up. His numbers were never great, in his prime from 2004-06, his completion percentage was only 55% and he averaged 2,400 yards, throwing 49 touchdowns and 38 picks. We all know he was an exciting runner with 11 rushing touchdowns in that span and he even rushed for 1,039 yards in 2006, but when has a running QB ever won a Super Bowl?

In his defense, he's a winner and a fighter. In four years as a full-time starter in Atlanta, Vick was 34-26-1 and in the postseason he was 2-2. It would have been interesting to see where Vick's career would have gone in 2007 and 2008, but he put himself in prison.

The key to Vick sticking as a starting quarterback in Philly is consistency, leadership, and winning. Vick admitted he didn't give his best effort in Atlanta.

"There was a lot more I could have done off the field and in the film room that could have elevated my game to a different level," Vick said. "I was complacent at the time, somewhat lazy, and I settled for mediocrity. I thought what I was doing was enough.

"Just imagine what I could have been doing if I really would have been applying myself. That's a regret I have."

If Vick gives maximum effort mentally, he can be one of the greats. He still has time, but he's got to show he can be consistent. His legs are great, but for him to be great he needs to use them less because they will erode over the course of his career. Vick has got to play out of his mind for Andy Reid to anoint him as QB over Kevin Kolb. If he can keep his completion percentage north of 60% and a 3:1 TD to INT ratio, he's good, but if he's anything close to what he was in Atlanta, then Kolb is starting. For now the city of Philly is behind Vick, and we all know how powerful the fans are there. He's the most popular backup in the league, but if he doesn't give them and Andy Reid what they want, which is consistency and a championship, they'll get rid of him just as they did Donovan McNabb and Allen Iverson.

Can he do it? I love Vick. I love black quarterbacks. But taking my emotions out of the equation and looking at past behavior, I don't think people change. Vick's never had to work...ever. He's just been that much better and people put up with his inconsistencies since he's such a superior talent. I don't think he changes his ways. His completion percentage will stay south of 60% and his TD:INT ratio won't even be 2:1. I'm calling it right now, he won't be the starter for the entire season.

I just hope Hip-Hop culture doesn't ban me like baseball did Pete Rose.

Come on homie...take your emotions out of the situation....I love Mike Vick...he's "our" hero...everything they said we couldn't be...a running QB that could excel in the league...I want to see him win a Super Bowl...

But how has he shown you he's changed in one game? It's the same Vick that threw a party this summer and someone got shot...Vick didnt' do anything wrong, but his judgement sucked! If you make decisions like that off the field STILL! What are you gonna do in a split second on the field....

I hope I'm wrong...I want to see Vick succeed because it will open the door for so many other black QBs...but you can't catch feelings over this...

I'm willing to bet your a Jay-Z fan..and if you're not then you are still likely familiar with this line,

"men lie, women, NUMBERS DON'T" ....

look at our boy Mike Vick's numbers...were they great? Hall of Fame esque? Hell naw!

So If I don't like Michael Vick then I'm not black...so if I go get arrested tomorrow can I be black again? LOL..that's a stupid steriotype that all Blacks have to have a blind love affair with Michael Vick...

like I said..I'm a huge fan...but I don't write my emotions..thats what a journal is for...this site is for sophisticated fans..you my friend SEEM to be delusional...

If you never saw Vick or Tom Brady play, had no clue who either of them was, but you saw their numbers, wins/losses and Super Bowl wins...who would you rather have as your QB?

Michael Vick may have changed as far as illegal activities and being more cautious of the people he hangs out with, but what proof do you have that he's changed as a QB? So you'd want the same old Mike Vick as your QB...you don't want him to improve at all?

If Vick wins 10 games, completes north of 60% of his passes, or has a 3:1 QB ratio this year..you my friend can write 3 articles of your choice for my site. I keep my word, and I hope I'm wrong about Vick. hit me up, richardboadu@6magazineonline.com, if Vick does any of those three things this year...I'm wrong and it's your world on my site homie....
