NFL players are certainly not above the law, but they are subject to a more lenient justice system because we the fans don't want to be disillusioned and are awfully quick to forgive.

Anybody who needs another "talking head" to break down a game that is sheer brutality masked as a sport is, as a wiser man than me would put it, "an idiot."

Seed the playoffs based on record. It's absurd that last year two teams with great records in tough divisions lost on the road to mediocre teams from lousy divisions.

He should do what he wants. If he still wants to play, then play. If not, then find something else. I believe that's how it used to work in this country.

If Oprah put a football in her hands and said she could throw, Snyder would probably be there with a contract. He is single handedly turning what was a rich and respected football franchise into a low class, alienated and mocked flea circus.

The worst draft pick ever was Rocky Thompson, a wide receiver from Bermuda by way of West Texas A&M, drafted number one (18th overall) by the New York Giants in 1971.

I've heard that Al leaves more football knowledge in the "bowl" than most folks will ever know, but when a man drafts a kicker in the first round of the draft at 17 it's time to put his wheelchair on cruise and point him in the direction of the bright warm light.

I always thought the rule only needed to be modified just a wee bit: ensure both teams get at least one possession in OT.

I have been a Redskins fan all of my life, but as God as my witness, if they sign TO I will pack away my burgundy and gold jersey and find another team to follow.

Matt Cassel now stands in the shadow of Scott Mitchell -- free agency winner/incumbent franchise savior. Lucky for Cassel he isn't headed to Detroit.

Snyder is following Jerry Jones's "team" concept and obtaining the same results.

Nobody's worth that, but Snyder and Vinny might actually pay. If they do, the headline will read "Redskins sign Haynesworth for $102 Million - Snyder's Ego Satiated."

Jerry Jones is a short-sighted egomaniac, an embarrassment, and an enabler of over-the-hill veterans who know a sugar daddy when they see and hear it.

The below average scores prospects get on the Wonderlic underscores the true lack of education most players receive in college.

It is long past time for player salaries to move back into the realm of reality. Why should a family of four pay more than a month's utility bills to go to a ball game?

Was Bonds a jerk toward the media? Sure, but never underestimate the power of the pen, especially when the pen is used while grinding axes.

Moving the Pro Bowl to a different place might save the NFL money but it will diminish interest in players. Who wants to go to Detroit in February to play a meaningless football game?

At the end of the day, it's hard to have a discussion about restricting one person's rights while not also asking yourself if you should stop talking because you're furthering your own agenda in the same breath.

The Steelers are the gold standard for long-term success in the post-merger era. On the other hand, they were the worst franchise in the pre-merger era, with the same Rooney family in charge -- so, maybe it balances out.

There was so much Steelers holding whenever Big Ben evaded the Cardinal rush, the offensive line should have been arrested for mugging.

I do not know a lot about PETA, but it seems the organization is one that requires occasional celebrity cases to promote its cause and to keep itself in the news.

It stunks that with half the game to go, the Ravens would be unable to over turn an egregious officiating error.

Arizona reminds me a bit of the New England Patriots '85 team in the sense that they're a good team with flaws that's peaked at the right time.

Perhaps T.O. will show up in Arizona and tearfully apologize to Andy and Donovan and ask to be traded back to Philly?

Pioli wants to get out from under the skirt of Belichick, and wave his own magic wand. This is a great move for all concerned, save poor Herman. Stick a fork in him, he's so done!

Remember the Philly fans ready to run Charlie Manuel out of town after the 2007 playoffs? Today, he's the most loved sports coach in the city. It's amazing what a trophy will do to fix a tarnished image.

Al Davis gets a free pass, he's not hitting on all eight. Jerry Jones hasn't won a post season game since Super Bowl XXX. Maybe the football gods are punishing him.
