The League

Sunday Line

Cincinnati at Indianapolis, Week 14

Sunday, 1 p.m.

The Colts have rarely been accused of winning ugly as long they've had QB Peyton Manning, but it took that last week to continue their climb into postseason contention.

"You never take winning for granted, but certainly we want to score more than three points," Manning told reporters in a reference to the team's offensive output in last week's 10-6 win over Cleveland. The Colts' fifth straight win -- by a combined total of 20 points -- made them the third team in league history to win five straight by six or fewer points, along with the 1992 Colts and 1986 Giants.

The close wins can be explained in part by the fact that the Colts are weathering their second spate of deluge of the season. C Jeff Saturday, who was sorely missed in the first two games of the season, could miss a second straight game with a strained left calf. Defensive captain Gary Brackett (right leg), DT Keyunta Dawson (hamstring) and the defensive linchpin, S Bob Sanders (swollen right knee), could all miss the game as well.

Manning did not throw a touchdown pass last week, the second time this year he has been shut out. But don't expect him to make it a trend. After the first -- a 34-14 loss at Green Bay on Oct. 19 -- he responded with at least two touchdown throws in five straight games. The Colts have won the last five meetings with the Bengals, and has never lost to Cincinnati.

WR Marvin Harrison has 1,090 career receptions, five away from moving past Tim Brown for third on the league's all-time list.

As for the Bengals, the less said, the better.
