Sunday Line Playoff Chatter, Take 3: Ravens at Dolphins
Baltimore (-3 1/2) at Miami
Matt: These last two games have confounded me.
Dave: The Ravens handled the Dolphins earlier this season, tho
Des: another rookie QB vs. another wily vet. They don't get much wilier than Chad. Or comeback-ier
Matt: He's the comeback-iest
Dave: Two teams that were a combined 6-26 last season, too.
Matt: The Wildcat was kinda the Mildcat in that first meeting. Get it? MILDcat? 'Cause they ran it five times, three for negative yardage and a long of five yards? ---mildcat--
Dave: ---mildcat---
Matt: The Ravens' D doesn't seem to be fooled by such tomfoolery.
Des: it was quite the puddytat that day. but I'm looking at the extra half-point and thinking this game has field goal margin written all over it
Dave: I suppose, looking at the schedule, that sound loss to the Ravens was where the Dolphins turned it around.
Dave: I'm looking for reasons to believe in some Dolphins magic, but I really think the Ravens are the better team.
Dave: Here's a good number for this road team: The Ravens have won 5 of their last 6 road games, outscoring opponents by an average of 12
Dave: So field goal, shmield goal. Gimme the Ravens.
Matt: Ravens are 6-1 ATS in their last seven as a favorite, but the Dolphins are 6-1 ATS in their last seven as an underdog. MY MIND HAS BEEN BLOWN.
Des: the Ravens have been beating teams soundly for much of the season, only loss the past 6 weeks was against the Steelers, otherwise they killed the Eagles, Bengals, Redskins, Cowboys (in highly amusing fashion) and Jags.
Des: well, I do think that Harbaugh and Cam Cameron have done wonders w/Baltimore's offense this season, but I still predict this contest to be close and not so high-scoring. So I'll take the points and the home team. Dolphins
Matt: I'll take the Dolphins.
Matt: Home-underdog, public riding the ravens. Seems to be the safer choice.
