Who's closer to success?
Many felt this was going to be the year the Wizards put it all together. Instead, the team has struggled and now is entangled in controversy, thanks to Gilbert Arenas.
The Redskins also started the season with high hopes -- but now Mike Shanahan has replaced Jim Zorn after the franchise's worst record since 1994.
By Week 3, the Skins were out of it, and now two months into the NBA calendar, the Wizards are staring at a 10-21 record.
Wilbon gave his take on the Arenas gun drama over the weekend and shared his final thoughts on the Redskins' long and miserable road this season on Monday. Now we want to hear what you think. Which team is closest to returning to contention?
Vote in our poll and then share your specific thoughts in the comments section below. Wilbon will pick a few of his favorites and respond to them in the coming week.

Where's the Joy at FedEx?
I'm thinking about writing a column for this weekend about the anxiety of being a Redskins fan over the past 10 years and am considering including a couple of testimonials from fans.
If you want to share, respond -- in a rational and G-rated fashion -- in the comments below, telling me what it's like to be a modern Redskins fan, and when the last time there was joy in rooting for the team.
I may use some of the best responses in the column. Keep it to 75 words or fewer, and include your real name and email address. If you're not comfortable posting your email address here, send us a note at wilbonstuff-at-washpost-dot-com.

Week 1 Topic: NFL Predictions
It's that time of year -- everyone, including Wilbon, is making predictions about the upcoming NFL season.
Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to write a short piece on this annual preseason football rite. The best piece will take an interesting angle on preseason predictions and explain that angle with passion and clarity. Entries must be 250 words or less.
Write your entries in the comment field, below. Wilbon will pick the best one and we'll post it here at the end of the week.

Now It's Your Turn ...
Ever sat through an episode of Pardon the Interruption and wondered, "Have these idiots ever watched a soccer match?" Ever read one of Wilbon's columns and exclaimed, "Boise State? Is he insane?" Here's your opportunity to be heard.
Each week in "Mouth Off at Mike," Wilbon and the WWW staff will pick a hot topic -- in sports, pop culture or life in general -- and turn it over to you. In the comments, post your take on the topic. Wilbon will pick the best one and we'll feature it here later in the week.
The rules are simple: show some passion, but write no more than 250 words with no-name calling and other knucklehead behavior.
Check back later on Tuesday for the first topic -- and get ready to Mouth Off at Mike ...
