Pick Against Mike: Week 1

Editors Note: After reading Wilbon's picks, test your prognostication skills by signing up for Post Pro Picks today. Among the many features (including prizes), you can compare your picks to Wilbon's.

Here are my picks for Week 1 in the NFL.

Titans at Steelers
Steelers over Titans (see the reasoning here).

Miami at Atlanta
Atlanta, at home, will beat last year's Cinderella, Miami...Of course that's my pick...I've got the Falcons, who have never had back-to-back winning seasons, playing in the NFC Championship game in January.

Kansas City at Baltimore
Baltimore over Kansas City...The Chiefs can't be as bad as they were last year; still, the Ravens, despite personnel defections, are a strong playoff team.

Philadelphia at Carolina
Philly. WWW is looking for the Panthers to backslide a bit and big, big things are expected of the Eagles.

Denver at Cincinnati
Bengals. Potentially two very, very bad teams...bottom feeders in the AFC. Carson Palmer, if he's healthy, could make the Bengals not awful...

Minnesota at Cleveland
Vikings might flatten out late in the season but they're good going in and they'll crush the Browns...

New York Jets at Houston
One of the better opening week games. Hard to go with a rookie QB (Mark Sanchez) making his very first start...on the road...So, it's the Texans at home...

Jacksonville at Indianapolis
Colts at home over Jacksonville...Big.

Detroit at New Orleans
See above. Rookie QB (Matt Stafford) making his very first start...on the road...against a team with aspirations. It's the Saints at home.

Dallas at Tampa Bay
Dallas is heavily favored to win in Tampa. WWW thinks the Cowboys could be the most overrated team in the NFL. Tampa wins one for the new coach...The Bucs might not win many but they'll get this one.

San Francisco at Arizona
Niners are one of the teams that are worth watching early because they're so tough to figure...I've got the Cardinals going deep in the playoffs, which might make me completely out of my mind. The good vibes pick up where they left off in Arizona. Cardinals.

St. Louis at Seattle
Seahawks ready for a bounce back season. Rams are just ready to be very bad. Seattle at home.

Washington at New York Giants
Redskins offense will be better than its been. But at Giants Stadium, trying to hold off that pass rush with an evolving offensive line isn't the best circumstance. The good news for the Redskins is the talent is even. The bad news is the Giants, coming off early playoff elimination, have gone through camp with a red-alert sense of urgency. Giants win, 14-10.

Chicago at Green Bay
This one gives me problems. The Packers should be greatly improved. The Bears offense should be greatly improved. I've got both making the playoffs as wild-cards...Packers at home spoil Jay Cutler's Bears debut.

Buffalo at New England
People are getting carried away with the Patriots. Still, they'll beat Buffalo at home.

San Diego at Oakland
The Raiders were improving at the end of the season and will be better, perhaps the second best team in the AFC West...way behind the Chargers who ought to have a shut up and put up season that leads them to the AFC title game. Chargers.

Hey Wilbon, "the most overrated team in the NFL" beat the Bucs today. Once again a case of "open-mouth-insert-foot-itis" from the most overrated columnist in sports.
